That Gossip of misinformation, or intentional spreading of false rumors, lies, etc: is a serious grave matter. It is breaking the 8th commandment, and it is a mortal sin. It is contrary to human dignity, and should be avoided. If you're spreading lies, you need to stop and go to Confession.
