Veil What is Sacred

So, a while back, I attended a High Latin Mass in Green Bay here: http://www.institute-christ-king.org/greenbay/.  I'd only ever attended 3 Latin Masses in my life, and, needless to say, I wasn't ready for them.  I always thought that everything was just a bit odd, but what especially bothered me was the insistence that women needed to have their heads covered.  Welp, before I made the decision to take the TLM plunge that Sunday, I figured I oughtta get a chapel veil.  Traditionally, unmarried women are supposed to wear white, and married women are supposed to wear black, but black is all they had at On This Rock in Oshkosh.  Meh.  It fits; I love the color black.  Aside from fidgeting with it for the entire Mass because I wore my hair down, and it kept sliding all over the place, I took a liking to it.  I dunno.  Something about kickin' it old-school, I suppose.  Not only did the Mass absolutely ROCK, but I didn't feel like a complete idiot.  There was even Exposition and Benediction afterwards, and the choir chanted the Salve!  YAY!  Anyways.  I went to a vigil Mass last night (it wasn't Latin), but I wore my chapel veil anyways.  I had a high bun in my hair this time, so I didn't need to touch it at all.  Whilst praying after Mass, though, I noticed a few reasons why I really like wearing it.

1.  When I put it on before entering the sanctuary, I feel like I'm putting on the last piece of the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:17).  This gets me JACKED.
2.  It's a reminder of my bridal veil, and outwardly shows that I am a beloved bride of Christ (Song of Songs 4:9).  As Catholics, we also veil what is sacred (Jesus in the tabernacle), so it reminds me that I'm a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).
3.  It's a Biblical way to be modest about my hair (which I love (1 Corinthians 11:15).  Yay!  Gotta battle the primary fault with humility.
4.  It keeps my focus forward during Mass.  I'm less distracted because my peripheral vision is impaired a bit.
5.  Brings me close to the Blessed Mother, who kept her head covered.
6.  Wearing the veil forces me to slow down whilst walking because it'll fall off if I walk too fast.
7.  Wearing it makes me feel very feminine.  I've never really been a fan of lace, but I love it anyways!

I'm hooked!
