A sardonic trifle of a blog that takes itself far too seriously.

A Farewell to Arms
Response to A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
Inside cover reads:
"The greatest American novel to emerge from WWI, A Farewell to Arms cemented Ernest Hemingway's reputation as one of the most important novelists of the 20th century. Drawn largely from Hemingway's own experiences, it is the story of a volunteer ambulance driver wounded on the Italian front, the beautiful British nurse with whom he falls in love, and their journey to find some small sanctuary in a world gone mad with war. By turns beautiful and tragic, tender and harshly realistic, A Farewell to Arms is one of the supreme literary achievements of our time."
My RXN:
I'm only on chapter 7 and I've already thrown it across the room. For some reason I can NOT get into this book. I was expecting great things from it since I liked The Old Man and the Sea so much. I don't feel like trying to read it right now. perhaps I'll give it another chance later. Blechk.
