Had thirsty poets last night. read this. Twas pretty cool. Haven't seen the guys in a while. It was neato... but there were a few too many drunk people there. i don't like drunks. especially touchy feely drunks. ack!
anyways. there was a guy walking by and my friend, matt, stopped him. Matt asked the guy if he'd like to join us for some poetry... and the guy looked like he was going to refuse... and i snagged him and said, "oi! don't walk away, i saved some pavement just for you." heh. he looked like one of those weepy little goth boys who likes to dress achromatically. anyways. he stayed around for a while until we were done... and we chatted it up at 29 steps. heh! cool! a guy who knows how to swing dance. anyways. i thought up a poem on the way down in the car, but since i couldnt write it in the car... i wrote it in a notebook whilst sitting on a barstool at 29 steps. so i was carrying it around with me... but i left it on the counter when i went to powder my nose. seems that pavement boy stole it whilst i wasnt looking and wrote the following.
Time stands still
Time is everlasting
Time is of the essence
What we know
And what we fear
Is time and time alone
30 seconds
20 seconds
10...
When all is said and done
We are here for time
Use it
or lose it
Time is what we make it
Pretty cool stuff.... don't know if there's undertones of atheism somewhere in there... might be... but the boy was totin' a jesus medal or something around his neck that he showed me. that's about it for now. have to get back to sleeping and then there's church tomorrow, my best friend's wedding (i flipping hate saying that all because of that dumb movie) to plan, and lifeteen to go to. AND i have to finish up my portfolio and study for the praxis 2. ACK
